Totentanz

This is another interesting corner in Basel. The Blumenrain streets runs parallel to the river, between the old and the 'Johanniter' bridges. At Totentanz (named after a painting that decorated the wall of the old cemetery) it bifurcates into St. Johanns Vorstadt (that's where I work) and the Spitalstrasse. The whole area is a very interesting mix of old and new buildings. My favourite one is the new Children's Hospital... I definitely have to sketch it one of these days.

  1. cool, I've always been wondering where this name came from, sounds spooky... The guy on the right hand side going with crutches is an interesting detail.
